Egypt's Housing Ministry inspects water and infrastructure projects across Kafr El Sheikh, Matrouh and Al‑Obour

Deputy Minister for Housing and Infrastructure, Eng. Ahmed Imran, led a field visit to several drinking‑water and sewage projects in the Matoubes centre of Kafr El Sheikh. The tour covered an EU‑funded sewage‑treatment plant in Zaghul (15 000 m³/day), the North Matoubes drinking‑water plant (30 000 m³/day for about 65 000 residents), a sewage plant in Qomsiyon (15 000 m³/day) and the main Matoubes water plant (86 000 m³/day serving roughly 160 000 people).

Minister of Housing, Eng. Randa Manshawi, together with Matrouh Governor Lt. Col. Mohamed Zamelout, inspected the “Abni Baytak” water‑pumping station, which serves around 45 000 inhabitants with three 250 m³/h pumps and a design capacity of 4 000 m³/day.

Beheira Governor Dr. Jacqueline Azer visited the construction of a new drinking‑water plant for the Al‑Dawwar residential city, part of the presidential “Hayat Karima” initiative, with a capacity of 90‑160 000 m³/day to support industrial zones and alleviate water shortages.

In Al‑Obour, Minister Manshawi oversaw ongoing development works, including road links, utility connections, land‑regularisation efforts and environmental management, stressing continuous field monitoring to meet project timelines and quality standards.
