Egypt's Housing Minister Randa Al‑Manshawi reports progress on new city developments and land allocations

Minister of Housing and Urban Communities Randa Al‑Manshawi detailed the status of multiple development projects across Egypt’s new cities. In New Minya, 32 residential buildings have been completed under the fifth phase of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, alongside a market of 71 buildings delivering 1,704 low‑income units, 64 green‑housing projects, and a commercial market of eight shops. Ongoing works include water pipelines, sewage expansion, road grading, electricity upgrades and telecommunications rollout.

The ministry also launched a land‑sale program under the “Masaken” scheme, opening 2,898 small residential plots in 17 new‑city locations between 27 July and 10 September 2026. The parcels are divided into 2,263 medium‑size and 635 premium plots, with an electronic application system to ensure transparency and equitable access.

Additionally, Al‑Manshawi reviewed the execution of drinking‑water and sewage projects in seven governorates—Minya, Asyut, Sohag, Qena, Ismailia, Port Said and Damietta—under the presidential “Decent Life” initiative. The projects involve treatment plants, lifting stations and new networks aimed at improving service delivery to dozens of villages.
