Egypt implements carbon neutrality strategy and logistics corridors
Egypt is implementing a comprehensive strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, integrated with its Vision 2030 goals. The national climate change strategy focuses on five key pillars: achieving low-emission economic growth, enhancing climate resilience and adaptation for coastal and food security, improving climate governance, developing green finance infrastructure, and supporting scientific research and technology transfer.
To support this transition, the country is expanding its renewable energy capacity and developing green hydrogen projects. Simultaneously, Egypt is upgrading its logistics and transport sectors through eight integrated development corridors. These corridors aim to connect industrial, agricultural, and mining production zones with maritime ports on the Red and Mediterranean Seas, as well as the Suez Canal axis. This infrastructure plan utilizes a network of railways, high-speed electric trains, and modern road systems to strengthen Egypt's position as a regional hub for transit trade and logistics.
