Egypt logistics and carbon neutrality strategy
Overview
Egypt is pursuing a dual strategy focused on achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and transforming into a global logistics hub. The national climate strategy emphasizes low-emission economic growth, climate resilience, green finance, and renewable energy expansion, including green hydrogen projects.
To support these goals and enhance export competitiveness, the government is developing eight integrated logistics corridors. These corridors, such as Arish–Taba and Sokhna–Alexandria, aim to connect industrial, agricultural, and mining zones with maritime ports on the Red and Mediterranean Seas and the Suez Canal. Approximately 80% of this infrastructure is already established.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade is working to establish a Services Export Council to promote Egyptian services, including medical and technology tourism, to diversify export sources and increase foreign currency reserves.
