Egypt launches Unified Card 2026 for digital services
The Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has announced the launch of the Unified Card 2026. This initiative aims to digitize government services by integrating traditional ration cards with comprehensive health insurance, postal payments, and identity services into a single secure smart tool.
To obtain the card, citizens must open a personal account with the National Post Authority, register their national ID, and provide a mobile number registered in their name. The cards will feature biometric verification to ensure services reach intended beneficiaries. Once processed, citizens will receive a text message indicating the collection location, which may include post offices, supply offices, health insurance units, or governorate headquarters.
The card is provided free of charge and supports various functions, including depositing and receiving funds, paying for purchases via point-of-sale machines, collecting bread and food subsidies, accessing health insurance, and making digital government payments.
