Saudi Arabia and Egypt face heavy rain and flash flood warnings
The National Center of Meteorology in Saudi Arabia has issued warnings for heavy to moderate thunderstorms across ten regions, including Jazan, Asir, Al Bahah, Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al Jouf, the Northern Borders, and parts of the Eastern Province. These storms may trigger flash floods, hail, and dust-inducing winds. Additionally, dense fog is expected in parts of the Eastern Province, and maritime conditions in the southern Red Sea may become rough with waves exceeding two meters.
In Egypt, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts a low-pressure system bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms from Sunday through Wednesday. Potential flash floods are expected in South Sinai, the Red Sea mountains (including Ras Banas and Abu Ramad), Halayeb, and Shalateen. The weather may also impact the Mediterranean coast, the Nile Delta, and parts of Upper Egypt. Authorities have also warned of dense morning fog on major roads and wind activity that could stir up sand and dust.
