Egypt Ministry of Agriculture reports extensive livestock health and reproductive services in July

The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, through the General Organization for Veterinary Services, reported extensive livestock health and reproductive care activities conducted during July.

In terms of disease control, over 80,000 animal tests were performed to combat Brucella and bovine tuberculosis. Specifically, 46,892 tests were conducted for Brucella across cattle, buffalo, sheep, and goats, while 33,474 tests targeted bovine tuberculosis to prevent zoonotic diseases and protect public health.

Regarding reproductive care and genetic improvement, veterinary services were provided to 38,368 female livestock. This included treating fertility issues, performing pregnancy diagnoses, and managing birth-related complications. Additionally, artificial insemination programs saw 41,463 livestock inseminated, supported by the production and distribution of over 63,000 frozen semen straws to various governorates to enhance herd productivity and food security.
