Egypt Ministry of Education announces per-lesson teacher hiring rules
The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education has announced the requirements and regulations for hiring teachers on a per-lesson basis to address staffing shortages in schools for the new academic year.
Applicants must hold qualifications appropriate to the teaching subject. However, the requirement for a higher degree may be waived if the applicant can provide proof of at least five years of experience in the specific field. Candidates will be selected based on subject specialization and geographic distribution, and all applicants will undergo a security background check by the educational directorate.
Regarding workload and compensation, teachers may be assigned a maximum of 15 paid lessons per week above their standard quota, and the total workload must not exceed 20 lessons per week to ensure educational stability. The incentive payment is set at 50 Egyptian pounds per lesson, subject to approval by the school principal, personnel officer, subject supervisor, and financial and administrative supervisor.
