Egypt Ministry of Finance extends real estate tax declaration deadline
Egypt's Ministry of Finance has announced an extension for submitting real estate tax declarations until the end of December 2026. This move aims to allow citizens to benefit from new incentives and facilities.
Additionally, the Ministry has extended the period for submitting tax dispute reconciliation requests and granted an exemption from delay penalties for six months, lasting until April 2, 2027. This extension applies to ongoing disputes between taxpayers and the Real Estate Tax Authority, including those currently before various court levels or tax appeal committees.
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk reported significant engagement with the new digital system, noting that over 2 million real estate units were registered via the mobile application within 100 days. Approximately 1.5 million citizens have created electronic accounts, resulting in 1.2 million tax declarations received. The Ministry plans to enhance the application's capacity, increase technical support teams, and hold meetings with business community representatives to explain the new tax facilitation package.
