Egypt Ministry of Housing announces 25,000 new residential units

The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities is launching a major residential initiative, ‘Housing for All Egyptians 9’, offering approximately 25,000 housing units through various schemes. This includes 15,000 units via the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund and 10,000 units through the New Urban Communities Authority under a rent-to-own system.

The rent-to-own units are distributed across 26 new cities, including New Cairo, 6th of October, New Alamein, and New Mansoura, with sizes ranging from 57 to 161 square meters. Applications for the social housing portion are scheduled to begin for citizens with disabilities on September 20, 2026, with general applications following shortly after.

Eligibility criteria for the social housing initiative include an age between 21 and 35 years and a monthly net family income not exceeding 16,000 EGP. Applicants must pay a 365 EGP registration fee and a 10,000 EGP security deposit. Applications will be processed electronically through the ‘Maskan’ portal and the Digital Egypt platform.
