Egypt Ministry of Industry unveils EU-backed SME support and industrial land plan

Egyptian Industry Minister Khaled Hashem met with EU delegation head Angelina Eichhorst and officials to deepen economic cooperation. The talks covered financing schemes for small and medium industrial enterprises, upcoming measures to simplify licensing, and a new package for allocating industrial land, including a streamlined system for small investors and ready‑to‑operate units in industrial zones. Parliamentary members praised the initiative. MP Amin Massoud said the support for medium‑size projects "is a key driver of economic development, creating jobs, adding value and boosting exports." MP Buthaina Abu Zaid added that linking these enterprises to local and global supply chains will enhance Egypt's manufacturing competitiveness and reduce import dependence.
