Egypt Ministry of Local Development reports August population unit activities

Egypt's Minister of Local Development and Environment, Manal Awad, reviewed a report detailing the activities of the Central Population Unit for August 2026. The report outlines progress toward the National Strategic Plan for Population and Development 2030.

During August, 2,523 training, educational, and service activities were recorded across 27 governorates, benefiting approximately 214,000 citizens. The beneficiaries included 118,000 in Lower Egypt, 86,000 in Upper Egypt, 7,000 in urban areas, and 3,000 in border governorates.

In collaboration with partners such as Banque Misr, the Sonaa El Kheir Foundation, and the ‘Mashrouak’ program, 30,000 young men and women received training in entrepreneurship and financial inclusion across 90 ‘Haya Karima’ centers in 15 governorates. Female participation in these programs reached 55%. Additionally, community activities focused on promoting values and ethics were conducted in four governorates in partnership with Misr El Kheir and Ajyal Misr foundations.
