Egypt Ministry of Petroleum denies fuel price hike rumors

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has issued a categorical denial regarding rumors circulating on social media about upcoming changes to petroleum product prices. The Ministry emphasized that current prices remain in effect and that no official decisions or recommendations regarding price hikes have been issued.

According to the Ministry, the committee responsible for monitoring the automatic pricing mechanism for petroleum products has not yet met. Consequently, any reported price increases or new rates shared on social media platforms are incorrect and lack official basis.

Additionally, the Ministry addressed rumors concerning shortages of butane cylinders in several governorates. It confirmed that the butane supply system is operating normally, with refineries producing and pumping products at full capacity to meet market demands. The Ministry stated that liquid gas reserves for cylinder filling are available and that distribution processes are proceeding regularly across various regions.
