Egypt Ministry of Social Solidarity announces 2027 NGO Hajj application dates
Egypt's Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, has announced the application period for the 2027 (1448 AH) NGO Hajj season. Applications will open on Tuesday, August 18, and close on Monday, August 31.
Eligible applicants must be members of registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that were established before July 1, 2026, and are not currently involved in legal disputes regarding their dissolution. Individual requirements include being an Egyptian citizen, at least 21 years old (with an exception for companions of parents who must be at least 18), and having never performed Hajj before.
Due to health regulations from the Egyptian Ministry of Health, certain medical conditions will disqualify applicants to mitigate infection risks. These include kidney failure requiring dialysis, severe respiratory diseases, advanced heart or liver disease, Alzheimer's, dementia, and certain neurological or psychological conditions. Additionally, cancer patients undergoing active treatment, individuals with active infectious diseases, and those with morbid obesity are restricted from applying.
