Egypt Ministry of Supply announces new food commodity prices

The Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has announced updated prices for essential food commodities and ration supplies, effective Thursday, September 10, 2026. The new pricing structure aims to stabilize markets and increase the availability of basic goods through official outlets and consumer complexes.

Key commodity prices include packaged sugar at 25 EGP per kilogram, packaged rice at 25 EGP per kilogram, and packaged flour at 20 EGP per kilogram. Other listed items include pasta (350g) for 9 EGP, tomato paste (300g) for 14 EGP, and various oils and fats. The ministry plans to gradually expand the variety of available subsidized goods from the current selection to 30 different items.

In addition to price updates, the ministry is promoting digital services via the Digital Egypt platform. This allows ration card holders to manage family additions and update data electronically, reducing the need for in-person visits to supply offices.
