Egypt opens 2027 Hajj applications for NGO members
The Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity has opened the application period for the 2027 Hajj season for members of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Applications are being accepted from August 18 until August 31, 2026.
Key eligibility requirements include being an Egyptian national of full legal capacity and having never performed the Hajj pilgrimage before. Applicants must be members of an NGO registered before July 1, 2026, and hold a national ID card valid for at least six months.
Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Executive Director of the National Foundation for Facilitating Hajj, noted that family members may apply together using a single unified form. Additionally, applicants are not restricted to applying from the governorate listed on their national ID.
Specific health and age regulations are in place: applicants must be at least 21 years old, and those over the age of 75 are required to have an accompanying companion. NGOs are responsible for verifying the accuracy of applicant data and may face penalties, including being barred from future Hajj applications, if incorrect information is submitted.
