Egypt pays second and third installments of 2026 grant for informal workers
Egypt's Ministry of Labour announced that the second and third installments of the 2026 grant for informal workers began on 16 July and will continue until mid‑August. Each beneficiary receives 1,500 EGP per instalment, totalling 3,000 EGP, with an overall allocation of roughly 737.7 million EGP for an estimated 245,905 workers across all 27 governorates.
Payments are distributed through the national post office network using the citizen's national ID card; no additional paperwork is required for those already registered in the ministry's database. The ministry clarified that registration is conducted solely via field surveys by local labour offices and contractors, and warned against unofficial online portals claiming to accept applications. The rollout follows President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi’s directives to expand social protection for the most vulnerable workers.
