Egypt President holds meeting on energy and industrial expansion

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, and Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem to discuss economic coordination and industrial expansion.

Minister Badawi presented the outcomes of the Egypt Mining Forum, noting international interest in the sector and efforts to resolve investment challenges. The discussions also covered petroleum sector performance for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, including new oil, condensate, and natural gas discoveries and reserve additions.

Minister Hashem outlined strategies for localizing supporting industries, such as refractories, alloys, engineering, and castings. The meeting also addressed maximizing the local use of scrap metal and implementing executive steps to deepen the steel industry and utilize local raw materials.
