Egypt industrial development and localization efforts

Egypt's Ministry of Industry has initiated efforts to strengthen the national manufacturing sector through both high-level strategic planning and localized administrative reforms.

Initially, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem met with the Arab Organization for Industrialization to discuss technology localization and enhancing local manufacturing capabilities. This initiative aims to support ‘Egypt’s Vision 2030’ by increasing the added value of national industry, reducing reliance on imports, and boosting exports through the local design and production of components.

Following these strategic discussions, focus shifted toward practical implementation and investor support in specific regions. Minister Hashem and the Governor of Giza, Ahmed Al-Ansari, met to address the legalization of investor statuses within the Gerza and Arab Abu Saed industrial zones. These discussions included addressing investor requests for extended payment periods, discounts, and improved infrastructure such as gas, electricity, and road services. The goal is to transform these areas into fully integrated industrial zones with comprehensive utilities.
