Egypt Prime Minister inspects Cairo Metro Line 4 project

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected the first phase of the Cairo Metro Line 4 project, a strategic infrastructure initiative spanning 19 km. The line will include 17 stations—16 underground and one surface station—connecting areas from the western edge of the Ring Road near 6th of October City to Al-Fustat.

The project aims to enhance mass transit, support urban and tourism development, and integrate new urban areas in Cairo and Giza. During the visit, Madbouly inspected the heavy overhaul workshop, which covers approximately 316,500 square meters and contains 30 buildings designed for the maintenance, washing, and storage of 23 trains.

Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir reported that five trains have arrived and are undergoing static and dynamic testing. Additionally, factory testing for trains 6, 7, and 8 has been completed in preparation for shipment, while train 9 has been assembled. Manufacturing continues for trains 10 through 16.
