Egypt unveils July 2026 irregular worker grant and salary increase
The Egyptian Ministry of Labor announced that a one‑off grant of 1,500 Egyptian pounds will be paid to irregular workers in late July 2026. Payments will be made through post offices nationwide and are limited to Egyptian citizens aged 20‑60 who are not permanently employed and meet other registration criteria.
Separately, the government confirmed that July 2026 salaries will be disbursed with a new increase to the minimum wage, though exact amounts were not detailed.
In addition, a public holiday on Thursday, 23 July 2026 will commemorate the 1952 revolution. Workers with a Friday‑Saturday weekend will enjoy a three‑day paid break, returning to work on Sunday, 26 July 2026.
