CIA Director John Ratcliffe met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo to discuss regional security and strengthen US-Egypt strategic relations. The high-level meeting, attended by Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad, focused on escalating conflicts in Gaza, Iran, and Sudan, as well as threats to maritime security and the Horn of Africa.

President al-Sisi emphasized the need for political and diplomatic solutions to regional crises, specifically calling for the full implementation of the second phase of the US plan to stabilize the Gaza ceasefire. He also expressed support for a comprehensive agreement to resolve the Iranian crisis to ensure regional stability and freedom of navigation. Ratcliffe commended Egypt's role in supporting peaceful settlements and conveyed greetings from US President Donald Trump.

Separately, President al-Sisi held meetings regarding Egypt's digital transformation. He ordered the expansion of large-scale data centers, 5G networks, and cloud computing investments. The government aims to reach $8 billion in digital exports by 2028 and $12 billion in digital outsourcing exports by 2029, while also advancing the “Karnak” national AI program to ensure digital sovereignty.
