Egypt rolls out digital training for 10,000 university students

Egypt's Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) launched the largest edition of its summer digital skills programme, aiming to train 10,000 university students in high‑demand fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software development, data science, cloud computing, digital marketing, electronics and digital design. The initiative, delivered with the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), combines classroom instruction, practical projects and professional‑development modules to improve graduates' employability.

The programme supports Egypt's broader strategy to become a regional hub for digital services and outsourcing. Authorities plan to train around 800,000 people in ICT by 2026 and to raise outsourcing exports to $6 billion, up from $5.2 billion in 2025. By expanding its pool of qualified tech talent, Egypt seeks to attract multinational companies and strengthen its position in the Europe‑Middle East‑Africa technology market.
