Egypt announces pension and government salary disbursement schedules

In Egypt, the National Social Insurance Authority has announced that September 2026 pension disbursements will begin on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Approximately 11.5 million beneficiaries will receive payments, which include a 15% annual increase implemented in July 2026. Beneficiaries can access funds through ATMs, Egyptian Post offices, participating bank branches, and mobile wallets. The authority also provides an online inquiry service via its official website using national ID numbers.

Separately, the Ministry of Finance has released the schedule for August 2026 government employee salaries. Regular salary disbursements for state administrative apparatus employees are set to begin on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Financial arrears are scheduled for disbursement on August 6, 9, and 10. The Ministry has urged employees to avoid crowding at ATMs, noting that funds will remain available for withdrawal following the designated start dates through banks, post offices, and ATMs.
