Egypt seeks expanded cooperation with China in desalination and AI

Egypt is seeking to expand commercial cooperation with China in sectors including seawater desalination, artificial intelligence, and digital services. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, stated that more than 3,000 Chinese enterprises are currently operating in Egypt.

Saleh noted that Chinese companies have introduced new industries to the country, such as fiberglass, creating fresh opportunities for local industrial development. The Egyptian government aims to foster a fair competitive environment and is working to address business environment challenges to support continued investment and project implementation.
