Egypt seeks to attract Spanish industrial investment

Egypt's Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, met with the Spanish Ambassador to Egypt, Sergio Roman Caranța Forster, to discuss strengthening industrial cooperation and attracting Spanish companies to the Egyptian market.

The discussions focused on investment opportunities within Egypt's updated industrial strategy, specifically targeting sectors such as textiles, ready-made garments, automotive, and renewable energy. The Minister expressed interest in facilitating technology transfer from Spain to support Egyptian industries and enhance local capabilities.

To encourage investment, particularly from small and medium-sized enterprises, the Ministry is promoting a new ‘Industrial Franchise’ system designed to reduce procedural burdens and simplify the investment process. The Ministry also proposed hosting a roundtable for Spanish companies interested in local manufacturing expansion to review available incentives and opportunities.
