Egypt strengthens industrial cybersecurity through IMC and MCS agreement
Egypt’s Industrial Modernisation Centre (IMC) and Middle East Communication Systems (MCS) have signed a cooperation protocol to enhance cybersecurity and digital transformation within the nation’s industrial sector. The agreement was witnessed by the Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hindi.
The initiative focuses on strengthening the ability of Egyptian industrial facilities to manage digital risks, specifically targeting operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS). By improving these protections, the protocol aims to support the transition toward smart factories and Industry 4.0 applications.
Beyond technical infrastructure, the agreement seeks to develop the digital skills of industrial workers. This effort is intended to ensure production continuity, stabilize supply chains, and increase the confidence of both local and international investors in Egyptian-manufactured goods.
