Egypt strengthens international partnerships with Tunisia and China

Tunisia and Egypt have signed a memorandum of understanding in Cairo to establish triangular cooperation among Southern nations. The agreement, signed by the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT) and the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (AEPD), focuses on capacity building, technical assistance, and knowledge sharing between the two nations and their Southern partners.

The signing took place during the 7th meeting of cooperation agencies of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) member countries. The meeting included representatives from thirteen member countries to discuss partnership opportunities and the use of the Rawabit platform to facilitate expertise exchange.

Separately, China and Egypt continue to strengthen economic and strategic ties, particularly through the TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone. Located along the Suez Canal, this industrial cluster hosts nearly 200 companies and has attracted over $4.7 billion in cumulative investments. The zone connects China’s Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt’s development strategy for the Suez Canal corridor, expanding into sectors such as solar energy and circular economy projects.
