Egypt telecom regulator raises mobile and broadband prices

Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority approved a revised price structure for mobile recharge cards and fixed‑line and mobile broadband services in May 2026. The changes raise tariffs on selected packages by roughly 9 % to 15 % and introduce new options, such as a 50 GB home‑broadband plan for EGP 150 and a 150 GB plan for EGP 260. A low‑cost mobile bundle priced at EGP 5 was also added.

The regulator kept free access to government and educational websites even after a user’s data allowance is exhausted. It said the adjustments reflect higher operating costs, rising energy and fuel prices, and increased global prices for network equipment and chips. The updates affect millions of Egyptian subscribers and aim to sustain network development and digital inclusion.
