Egypt to transition to winter time in October 2026

Egypt is scheduled to transition from daylight saving time to winter time in late October 2026. According to Law No. 34 of 2023, daylight saving time will conclude at the end of Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Starting from the first minute of Friday, October 30, 2026, the country will implement winter time by setting clocks back 60 minutes at midnight. This transition aims to rationalize electricity and energy consumption while maximizing the utility of daylight hours.

To avoid confusion regarding work, study, and travel schedules, citizens are advised to ensure their electronic devices are set to update time automatically or to manually adjust clocks by one hour when midnight arrives.
