Egypt to transition to winter time in October 2026

Egypt is scheduled to transition from daylight saving time to winter time in late October 2026. According to Law No. 34 of 2023, daylight saving time will conclude at the end of the last Thursday of October.

Specifically, daylight saving time will end on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The winter time schedule will officially commence on Friday, October 30, 2026, at midnight, when clocks are set back by 60 minutes. This transition is part of a policy aimed at rationalizing energy consumption and maximizing the use of daylight hours.

While most smartphones and internet-connected devices update automatically, users with manual devices will need to adjust their clocks to avoid discrepancies in work, school, and transportation schedules.
