Egypt unveils new Trade Intelligence Portal to expand exports

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the Foreign Trade Information Portal, a digital platform developed by the Information and Decision Support Center together with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. The portal aggregates more than 60 million trade records from sources such as the WTO, World Bank and UNCTAD, covering roughly 6,650 product categories under the Harmonised System. It provides real‑time market intelligence, tariff data, non‑tariff barriers and country‑level demand trends for exporters, manufacturers and investors.

The system is intended to diversify Egypt's export destinations, reduce reliance on a limited set of markets, and support the government's ambition to raise non‑oil merchandise exports to about $100 billion by 2030. Officials said the portal will lower research costs for small‑ and medium‑size exporters and give larger firms a data‑driven framework for market selection and investment planning, marking a key step in the country's wider digital transformation of trade policy.
