Egypt vaccinates over 2 million livestock against epidemic diseases

Egypt's Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has announced that its national vaccination campaign has protected over 2 million head of livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever.

According to the General Organization for Veterinary Services, a total of 2,039,973 doses have been administered across various villages and centers nationwide. Specifically, 1,136,837 animals have been vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease, while 903,136 have received vaccinations against Rift Valley fever.

The campaign, directed by Minister Alaa Farouk, aims to protect livestock from epidemic diseases to support food security and sustainable development. Field teams are also conducting animal numbering, registration, and awareness campaigns to ensure comprehensive coverage, particularly in remote and border areas.
