North Africa weather: Rain and temperature shifts in Egypt, Libya, and Morocco

Various North African countries are experiencing transitional autumn weather characterized by temperature fluctuations and localized precipitation.

In Egypt, a low-pressure system is influencing weather patterns, bringing moderate to hot daytime temperatures and cooler nights. The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has warned of morning fog on major roads and potential thunderstorms or moderate rain in the northwest coasts, northern Delta, and Matrouh desert. Temperatures in Cairo are expected to reach around 30-31°C, while southern Upper Egypt remains significantly hotter, reaching up to 37°C.

Libya is seeing moderate autumn conditions with scattered rainfall. The National Meteorological Center predicts thunderstorms and potential water accumulation in low-lying areas, particularly in the eastern and southeastern regions. Temperatures across much of the country are expected to range between 18°C and 32°C.

Morocco is facing relatively high temperatures, especially in interior and southern regions. While coastal areas enjoy milder weather, cities like Smara could see temperatures as high as 42°C. Localized thunderstorms and wind gusts are expected in mountainous and interior areas.
