Middle East and North Africa face heatwaves and maritime warnings

Multiple regions across the Middle East and North Africa are experiencing significant weather shifts, characterized by intense heatwaves and maritime warnings.

In Egypt, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority has issued warnings regarding high humidity and extreme heat, with waves reaching up to 4.5 meters along the northern coasts, disrupting marine navigation. A gradual decrease in temperatures is expected as the month ends.

Morocco is seeing a divide between moderate coastal temperatures and high heat in the southern, eastern, and interior regions, with potential thunderstorms in the Atlas Mountains and Rif areas.

In Iraq, temperatures are expected to drop slightly with chances of thunderstorms in the northern and central regions. Lebanon is also anticipating a shift toward cooler, cloudier weather with potential heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the north.

In Palestine, weather remains hot and dry in mountainous areas, though a low-pressure system is expected to bring scattered thunderstorms and a noticeable temperature drop by Sunday.
