Egypt weather warnings issued for thunderstorms and flash floods
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued warnings regarding unstable autumn weather conditions across Egypt. The forecast includes varying intensities of thunderstorms and the potential for flash floods in several regions, specifically targeting Sinai, the Red Sea mountains, the Gulf of Aqaba, and parts of southern Upper Egypt.
Temperatures are expected to fluctuate, with hot conditions in Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, and very hot temperatures in the south, reaching up to 39°C in Aswan. While daytime temperatures remain high, nights and early mornings are expected to be moderate to cool.
Additional weather phenomena include morning fog on roads leading to the north, Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and central Sinai. Winds may also stir up sand and dust in southern Upper Egypt and the southern Eastern Desert. Authorities have advised citizens to avoid flood paths and water accumulations, and to exercise caution while driving in foggy or dusty conditions.
