Egypt weather forecast shows temperature drop and light rain

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has announced a shift in weather patterns across Egypt, marking the end of a recent heatwave. A northwesterly air mass is expected to bring a decrease in temperatures and improved conditions in several regions.

Forecasts for Saturday, September 19, 2026, indicate moderate to hot and humid weather in the north, including Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, while southern Upper Egypt will remain very hot. Light rain is possible in intermittent periods across the northern coasts and northern Delta regions.

Morning fog is expected on roads leading to the north, Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. Additionally, wind activity may cause sand and dust storms in parts of southern Upper Egypt and the New Valley. Sea conditions are expected to be moderate in the Mediterranean, while the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez may experience moderate to turbulent conditions with wave heights between 2 and 2.5 meters.
