Egypt weather: Gradual temperature drop expected amid summer heat
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has forecasted a gradual decrease in temperatures across several regions of Egypt, starting Thursday, September 10, 2026, with a more noticeable decline expected from Friday. While temperatures are trending toward seasonal norms, hot and humid conditions will persist during daylight hours, particularly in the south where temperatures may reach 42 to 43 degrees Celsius.
As the new school year begins on Saturday, September 12, students and parents can expect stable summer weather. In Greater Cairo, maximum temperatures are projected to range between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius, with felt temperatures reaching up to 37 degrees.
Additionally, maritime disturbances are expected on some Mediterranean coasts, with wave heights reaching between 1.5 and 2.5 meters. Authorities have advised vacationers to follow safety instructions and heed beach warning flags due to these turbulent sea conditions.
