Egypt weather forecast predicts heat and scattered rainfall

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has issued weather forecasts for late September 2026, indicating autumnal conditions with moderate temperatures in the early morning. During the day, temperatures are expected to rise, with hot conditions in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, and northern Upper Egypt, while southern Upper Egypt may experience extreme heat reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius.

Several weather phenomena are anticipated. Morning fog is expected between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM on various roads leading to northern regions, Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai. There is a 20% chance of light to moderate rainfall in parts of the northern coast, the Nile Delta, and the Western Desert. Additionally, there is a slight chance of light rain in southern parts of the Delta, Cairo, central Sinai, and areas including Halayeb, Shalateen, and extreme southern Upper Egypt.

Wind activity is expected across most of the country, with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 km/h, which may help moderate temperatures in shaded areas and during the night. Maritime conditions for the Mediterranean, Red Sea, and the Gulf of Suez are described as moderate to turbulent, with wave heights ranging from 1.5 to 3 meters.
