Egypt weather: Temperatures to rise gradually amid high humidity

Egypt is experiencing a gradual rise in temperatures following a recent period of relative cooling. According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, the increase is driven by the influence of the Indian Monsoon low and hot, humid air masses arriving from the Mediterranean.

In Greater Cairo, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, though humidity levels may cause the perceived temperature to reach approximately 39 degrees. In southern Upper Egypt, temperatures are forecasted to climb between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius.

Humidity levels are expected to remain high, particularly at night, potentially exceeding 90% on the northern coasts and reaching 80-85% in Cairo and the Nile Delta. Wind speeds are expected to fluctuate between 30 and 40 km/h, which may provide some relief in open areas. Significant weather patterns include morning fog on roads leading to northern regions and potential maritime disturbances in the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez, where waves may reach up to 3 meters.
