Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co. signs grid expansion contracts

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed two contracts to connect major transformer stations to the national 220 kV grid. One agreement covers the Badrashin transformer station, specifying the supply of cable terminations, insulated joints and grounding kits, with a four‑month execution schedule. The second contract, with Al‑Jawhari Contracting, calls for the construction of two double‑circuit 220 kV lines linking the Kemet El‑Sokhna transformer station, totaling about 27 km, to be completed within eleven months. Both projects aim to improve the efficiency and stability of Egypt’s unified electricity network, support industrial expansion and national development projects, and follow the directives of Minister Dr. Mahmoud Assem.

The contracts were signed by EETC Chairwoman Eng. Mona Rezq, reflecting the ministry’s plan to reinforce the grid’s capacity to meet rising loads and to provide reliable power for new infrastructure, medical centers and other public works across the country.
