Egyptian Exchange rises as EGX30 approaches 57,000 points
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw significant gains at the start of the week, with the main EGX30 index rising 0.72% to close at 56,676 points. The market capitalization increased by approximately 34 billion Egyptian pounds, reaching a total of 4.418 trillion Egyptian pounds.
Trading activity was driven by net buying from Egyptian investors, who recorded a net purchase of approximately 289.024 million Egyptian pounds. In contrast, Arab and foreign investors were net sellers, with Arab investors selling 256.117 million Egyptian pounds and foreign investors selling 32.906 million Egyptian pounds.
Other indices also showed growth: the EGX70 rose by 1.48% to 21,618 points, and the EGX100 increased by 1.13%. The real estate sector led the positive performance, followed by telecommunications, textiles, non-banking financial services, and healthcare. Total trading value reached 15.1 billion Egyptian pounds across 4.3 billion shares.
