Al Ahly SC faces scrutiny over coach Hussein Ammouta and player performance

Following a narrow 1-0 victory against Modern Sport in the Egyptian Premier League, Al Ahly SC is facing intense debate regarding the future of head coach Hussein Ammouta. While media personality Ahmed Shobier stated there is no intention from the club management to dismiss Ammouta regardless of upcoming results, other analysts have expressed significant concerns.

Former players and commentators, including Islam Adel and Karim Ramzy, have criticized Ammouta’s tactical approach, suggesting his defensive style does not align with the club’s identity. Amidst these discussions, attention has also turned to individual player performances, specifically regarding Imam Ashour and Mohamed Hany, with some reports suggesting dissatisfaction among certain squad members.

Al Ahly currently sits second in the league standings with 20 points from eight matches. The team is preparing for a high-stakes encounter against Pyramids FC following the international break, a match that many believe will serve as a critical test for the current technical staff.
