Al Ahly SC management and coach Hussein Ammouta

Al Ahly officials previously planned to meet with head coach Hussein Ammouta to address the team’s decline in form, player integration, and locker room discipline. Despite performance concerns, the club expressed an intention to maintain Ammouta in his position. Following these discussions, Ammouta maintained an unbeaten record through 11 matches, including a Cairo derby victory and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

Following a narrow 1-0 victory against Modern Sport in the Egyptian Premier League, the club is facing intense debate regarding Ammouta’s future. While media personality Ahmed Shobier stated there is no intention from management to dismiss the coach regardless of upcoming results, other analysts have expressed significant concerns. Former players and commentators, including Islam Adel and Karim Ramzy, have criticized Ammouta’s tactical approach, suggesting his defensive style does not align with the club’s identity.

Attention has also turned to individual player performances, specifically regarding Imam Ashour and Mohamed Hany, with reports suggesting dissatisfaction among certain squad members. Al Ahly currently sits second in the league standings with 20 points from eight matches. The team is preparing for a high-stakes encounter against Pyramids FC following the international break, a match viewed as a critical test for the technical staff.

Looking ahead, the club faces a dense schedule in November, including a Capital Cup match against Al Mokawloon Al Arab on November 2, an Egypt Cup fixture against Sikka Hadid, a Premier League clash with Pyramids FC on November 23, and a CAF Confederation Cup encounter against Primeiro de Agosto on November 27.
