Egyptian governorates crack down on food market violations

In Minya governorate, authorities conducted intensive inspections, issuing 200 supply violations and seizing large quantities of unidentified and unsafe goods, including a ton of pickles, 625 kg of sugar, 830 kg of flour, and various meat products. A failed attempt to smuggle petroleum materials at a fuel station was also thwarted, with the seized material handed over for investigation.

In Dakahlia governorate, 160 supply violations were recorded. Inspectors confiscated 190 kg of unknown-source meat products, 52 kg of illegally slaughtered meat, 20 kg of unidentified poultry parts, and numerous dairy and chocolate items. Additional infractions involved bakery standards, illegal fuel cylinder sales, and unauthorized market closures.
