Egyptian governorates evaluate projects for National Green Smart Initiative

Egyptian governorates Beni Suef and Gharbia are conducting technical evaluations for the fourth edition of the National Initiative for Green Smart Projects. This initiative aims to promote the green economy and support innovative ideas that address environmental sustainability and smart technology.

In Beni Suef, Governor Abdullah Abdel Aziz met with an evaluation committee composed of representatives from several ministries, including Planning, Local Development, Environment, and Communications and Information Technology. The committee is reviewing projects across various categories, such as large-scale, medium-scale, startups, and women-led initiatives, to select the best candidates for the national finals.

In Gharbia, Governor Alaa Abdel Moati reported that 391 projects applied for the initiative, with 49 advancing to the technical evaluation stage. These projects cover sectors including solid and agricultural waste management, clean and renewable energy, eco-friendly buildings, smart cities, and clean agriculture. The evaluation process focuses on selecting projects capable of providing practical solutions and real developmental impact to represent the governorate at the national level.
