Egypt National Green Smart Projects initiative
Overview
Egyptian governorates are conducting technical evaluations for the fourth edition of the National Initiative for Green Smart Projects. This initiative seeks to promote a green economy and support innovative solutions for environmental sustainability and smart technology.
In Beni Suef, a multi-ministry committee is reviewing various project categories, including large-scale, medium-scale, startups, and women-led initiatives. In Gharbia, 49 projects have advanced to the technical evaluation stage from an initial 391 applicants, covering sectors such as renewable energy, waste management, and smart cities.
In Sharqia, the executive committee for the same national initiative is also evaluating local green projects. These efforts are intended to support Egypt’s National Climate Change Strategy 2050 by fostering sustainable development.
