Egyptian Health Authority Chief Ahmed Sabki Unveils Plan to Boost Comprehensive Insurance Service
Ahmed Sabki, chairman of Egypt’s General Authority for Health Care, announced a new operational plan for the comprehensive health insurance system. The plan calls for weekly performance monitoring, unified reporting across all regional branches, and accelerated handling of patient complaints to maintain satisfaction above 95%.
Key measures include reducing waiting lists by reorganising service pathways, expanding specialist care by recruiting leading Egyptian and international experts, and launching child heart‑surgery services at the Luxor Children’s Hospital and advanced cardiac treatments in Aswan. Additional focus will be on ensuring full stock of life‑saving drugs, regular preventive maintenance of facilities, and surprise field inspections to monitor quality, infection control and digital transformation.
Sabki emphasized that coordinated efforts across staffing, equipment and management are essential for delivering timely, high‑quality care to all beneficiaries of the insurance scheme.
