Egyptian Health Authority Grants Accreditation to 27 Health Facilities

The General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, chaired by Dr. Ahmed Taha, approved the granting and renewal of accreditation for 27 health establishments under the GAHAR standards recognised by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua). The decision was taken at a meeting in the New Administrative Capital and covers a range of facilities, including Hoorus Specialty Hospital in Luxor, the Ismailia Shokri Khalaf clinics of the Suez Canal Authority, family‑medicine units in Ismailia and Kafr Shiekh, the Qure Lab diagnostics centre in Suez, and the main family‑medicine centre at the Suez Canal University.

The accreditation aims to improve patient safety, standardise clinical practices and raise the overall quality of services across Egypt’s primary‑care network. The authority also granted preliminary accreditation to new family‑medicine units in twelve governorates, extending the quality‑culture initiative nationwide.
