Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar addressed a parliamentary‑party discussion hosted by the Himaya al‑Watan party, reviewing recent accomplishments and ongoing projects in Egypt’s health system. He highlighted the rollout of the National Health Strategy 2024‑2030 and the National Population Strategy, as well as the implementation of a comprehensive health‑insurance scheme that aims to provide free treatment for patients unable to pay.

The minister cited 15 presidential initiatives targeting early disease detection and preventive care, increased budget allocations to the health ministry, and infrastructure upgrades including new hospitals and medical caravans delivering free services across multiple governorates. Specific programs mentioned were radiation‑oncology centers in seven governorates, diabetic‑foot treatment units and efforts to promote medical tourism.
